TLDR: Street Football and Street Futsal believe it or not are not the same sport, I don't care about your opinion, it's just the facts. There is a debate to be made over which one is better, I believe it's Street Futsal, but you be the judge for yourself.

Although they may appear to be the same entity, Street Football and Street Futsal are mutually exclusive.

The Difference

Street Football

As we always say, Street Football is the purest form of the game, there are no rules, no exact format, and it involves players expressing themselves in the best ways they see fit in order to win the match. The is a large focus on flair in Street Football, but it is not essential.

Street Futsal

Where Street Futsal differs is in the fact that the game is 99% Futsal, with the final 1% being the Streets that the matches are played on. Street Futsal is the same Futsal format in terms of tactics, players on the court, it has refs, and is typically played in a league fromat on the same street court each week. To make it simple; the second that 5 players are versing each other on a Street Court, with 1 player on each team being a goal keeper.... that's Street Futsal.

So Which to Chose?

First off.... This is MY opinion. And second.... Street Futsal is better. My reasons, the fromat is easier to explain and build a league around, in my particular case (in Sydney Australia), Futsal Clubs are so much more prevalent than Street Football clubs that it's a joke the difference. We're talking 500 Futsal Clubs at least to each Street Football Club, so you can see where this is going. I believe Street Foutsal is better due to being a much easier on-ramp to Futsal players for the overall Street Football ecosystem. Do I believe these Futsal players will explore the ecosystem more? No. However it opens the door to the posibility. I have played both Street Football and Street Futsal, they feel immensly different, and I prefer the more professional but edgy feel of Street Futsal. This is to also say that I prefer Street Futsal over regular Futsal as well.

Just my thoughts, but the distinction is definitely a requirement for the overall Street Football and Futsal community to understand. If you ask me, Street Futsal is the best of both worlds, and I'm more likely to call myself a Street Futsal player as opposed to a Street Footballer.
